Peeling Skin

Stuart Millar Updated by Stuart Millar

Some SmartLotion® users may experience peeling skin.

This is normal and part of the healing process, like our article on stinging skin. It should go away within 2 weeks.

If your skin feels dry and you aren't moisturizing, be sure to moisturize at least 2x per day, because SmartLotion® is not a moisturizer.

If your skin is still peeling after 2 weeks, it is likely due to a sulfur intolerance.

In Dr. Harlan's peer-reviewed study, he found that 1% of his patients had an intolerance for sulfur and therefore could not use SmartLotion®.

If you find that you have a sulfur intolerance, email us at support@harlanmd.com and we would be happy to provide return instructions.
